AJAMI
Ajami is best defined as the practice of decorating architectural elements in a variety of colors. In Syria, Ajami flourished during the Umayyad period to reach its peak in the Ottoman Empire. Inspired from local landscapes, artisans have been producing Ajami to decorate interiors.
This craft is practiced in Amman today as several artisans moved their workshop from Damascus in 2011 and the years following.
