Obaidah is a Saudi artisan based in Riyadh who has developed a collection of jewellery with international designer Vicki Sarge. Born on the coral Farasan Island that lies off the south-westerncoast of Saudi Arabia, she spent her childhood living mostly in tents, where she learned embroidery and beadwork from her mother. Over the last year, working with her daughterand grand-daughter, Obaidah has been developing a new line of jewellery. Inspired by Bedouin textiles, she is using ancient methods of bead weaving, tassels and macrame to create contemporary jewellery pieces with gemstones and pearls.
