Samim Nasimy comes from a family of distinguished engineers, and was the first in his family to receive training in traditional crafts, a decision that surprised his family at first. Samim graduated from the Turquoise Mountain Institute for Afghan Arts and Architecture in 2012 and now works as a teacher while also helping to run an independent business called Afghan Traditional Pottery.
