Turquoise Mountain has received support from many generous public and private donors, without whom the project could not have happened.
Turquoise Mountain's principal supporter is currently the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Since 2008 USAID has funded urban regeneration, community development, vocational training, and business development activities.
The Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation will be the primary supporter of the Institute for Afghan Arts and Architecture from 2016 to 2020. Since 2008 it has funded Turquoise Mountain, in particular the Calligraphy School of the Institute.
The British Council supports Turquoise Mountain's jewellery sector development projects through a Golden Thread grant.
In the past we have also received generous support from the following donors:
The Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GIRoA), 2009 - 2010
