Ink from Ashes

Ink from Ashes celebrated the work of calligraphers and painters from Afghanistan and was the largest exhibition of Afghan calligraphy in the Middle East when it opened in 2007.
The exhibition included 60 new or recent works by over 30 calligraphers and illumination artists from across Afghanistan. Turquoise Mountain's Institute for Afghan Arts and Architecture in Kabul has trained and supported hundreds of Afghan calligraphers and painters.
