Fakhria Nezami

Fakhria Nezami was born a refugee in Peshawar, Pakistan in 1989. She spent the first seventeen years of her life there before returning to Afghanistan to enroll at the Turquoise Mountain Institute. Fakhria specialises in the technique of nuqtapardazi, a kind of pointillism in which the tip of the brush is used to dab thousands of tiny marks on the page. Fakhria's work has been exhibited in the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha and in London's Leighton House Museum. She has now become a teacher at the Turquoise Mountain Institute.
