Contemporary crafts offer a unique opportunity to reinterpret and incorporate traditional motifs and stories into creative and singular product ranges.

Turquoise Mountain is working with the award-winning Nora Al Qahtani to develop textile ranges, including beautiful handmade silk pillow-cases and covers, using quilting and applique techniques. The textile patterns are inspired by prolific plasterwork throughout historic Jeddah, with the vibrant colours echoing the architectural features and textiles of the buzzing sea-side city. The silk collection pays homage to the history of Jeddah as a commercial port and meeting point for regional merchants to trade and sell their luxurious textiles and products.

Handcrafts are the bridge between the past and the present. It is our identity and the basis of our material existence on the world map.
